Coaching / Project Management Development

A coach
who's been
in the seat.

Project management coaching and PMP exam prep coaching for practitioners at every level. One-on-one and small group formats. Led by a practitioner with two decades of enterprise delivery, not a career coach reading from a playbook.

Whether you're preparing for the PMP exam, stepping into your first PMO leadership role, or navigating a career pivot into AI delivery, the coaching meets you where you are and takes you where you're going.

Coaching that starts where you are. Not where a curriculum says you should be.

Most PM development is one-size-fits-all. A course with fixed content, fixed pacing, and no room for the questions that actually keep you stuck. Coaching at PPM University is built around your specific situation: your role, your gaps, your goals, and the real challenges you're facing at work this week.

This is high-touch, practitioner-led development. Not motivational talks. Not generic career advice. Practical, targeted coaching from someone who has led complex enterprise programs, built PMOs, and trained hundreds of PMs to pass the PMP exam and lead with confidence.

Two lanes. One standard of care.

Whether you're prepping for an exam or building a career, every coaching engagement is personalized, accountable, and built to produce results you can measure.
i.

PMP Exam Prep Coaching

Personalized, one-on-one coaching for PMP exam candidates. Targeted help with scenario-based questions, study strategy, time management, and confidence building. A complement to the PMP60 course or a standalone option for candidates who want flexible, individualized support.

$199 per hour, or $599 for the full four-hour program. See the program and pricing.

ii.

Career Development Coaching

For PMs at any level looking to grow their leadership, navigate a career transition, or step into a senior delivery or PMO leadership role. We work on the skills, positioning, and strategic thinking that get you to the next level.

iii.

New PM Coaching

For professionals stepping into project management for the first time. Build foundational skills, understand how to lead without authority, and develop the mindset that separates good PMs from great ones.

iv.

Leadership and PMO Coaching

For senior PMs and PMO leaders navigating organizational complexity, executive stakeholders, and the shift from managing projects to leading a practice. Strategic thinking, influence, and governance design.

PMP exam prep coaching that goes beyond the study guide.

The PMP exam is scenario-based. Memorizing processes won't get you there. PMP exam prep coaching focuses on how PMI expects you to think, how to break down situational questions, and how to build the test-taking instincts that turn "I think I'm ready" into "I know I'm ready."

Use it alongside the PMP60 course for maximum support, or as a standalone option if you need flexible scheduling.

Four hours built around your gaps. Not a generic syllabus.

Most people preparing for the PMP already know the material. What stops them is the exam itself: long situational questions, answer choices that all sound reasonable, and limited time to sort them out. This program fixes that. We work through your practice results, find the patterns behind the questions you miss, and build the judgment the exam is testing.

Session 011 hour

Diagnostic and study plan

We start by finding out where you actually stand. You bring your practice scores, I look at what you are missing and why, and we build a study plan around the real gaps instead of everything at once.

  • Review your practice exam results by domain
  • Identify whether gaps are knowledge or interpretation
  • Set your target exam date and weekly plan
  • Decide what to stop studying
Session 021 hour

How PMI wants you to think

The exam rewards a specific mindset. Servant leadership, proactive communication, and going to the team before going to the sponsor. We work through what that looks like in practice so the right answer starts to feel obvious.

  • The PMI mindset applied to real scenarios
  • Why more than one answer can look correct
  • Spotting the action the exam wants first
  • Common traps and how to recognize them
Session 031 hour

Your weakest domain, worked live

We take the domain costing you the most points and work it together. That is usually agile and hybrid delivery, or the business environment questions people skim past. You talk through your reasoning out loud and I show you where it breaks.

  • Targeted work on People, Process, or Business Environment
  • Agile and hybrid scenarios in depth
  • Talk through your reasoning on live questions
  • Fix the specific habit causing wrong answers
Session 041 hour

Exam readiness and test day

The last session is about proving you are ready and walking in calm. We review your final mock results, set your pacing plan, and go through exactly what test day looks like so nothing catches you off guard.

  • Final mock exam review and score analysis
  • Pacing and time management across all questions
  • Handling the two breaks and staying steady
  • A clear go or wait recommendation

Two ways to work with me.

One thing you need before we start

You must purchase PMI Study Hall directly from PMI. It is not included in the coaching price. Study Hall is where your practice exams and question bank live, and our sessions are built around reviewing those results together. Without it, I have nothing to diagnose. You can buy it at pmi.org.

If you are enrolled in PMP60, coaching works as an add-on to the course rather than a replacement for it.

Not a career coach. A practitioner.

i.

20 years in the seat

Your coach led complex enterprise programs across healthcare, financial services, construction, and technology. This isn't theory. It's practice.

ii.

Seven certifications deep

PMP, SAFe, LPM, SAIPM-CP, CPMAI, PMO-CP, PMI-CP. The credential stack reflects a commitment to the craft, not just the classroom.

iii.

PMI PMO of the Year Judge

Selected by PMI to evaluate the world's top PMOs. That perspective informs how coaching prepares you for what organizations actually look for in PM leaders.

iv.

High-touch and personal

This is not a group webinar with 200 people. Coaching is one-on-one or small group, tailored to your situation, with accountability baked in.

v.

Flexible scheduling

Sessions work around your calendar. No rigid cohort schedule required. Coaching fits into your life, not the other way around.

vi.

Results you can measure

PMP pass rates. Promotions earned. Roles landed. Confidence built. Coaching is an investment, and you should see the return.

What people ask about coaching.

What kind of coaching does PPM University offer?
One-on-one and small group project management coaching. Services include PMP exam prep coaching, career development coaching for PMs at all levels, new PM coaching, and leadership coaching for senior PMs and PMO leaders.
Is PMP exam prep coaching different from the PMP60 course?
Yes. PMP60 is a structured cohort course with live classes, study plans, and mock exams. PMP exam prep coaching is a personalized, one-on-one supplement for candidates who want additional support, targeted help with scenario-based questions, or flexible scheduling outside the cohort format. Many students use both.
Who is the coach?
All coaching is led by Xavier Billingsley, Founder and CEO of PPM University. Xavier holds PMP, SAFe, LPM, SAIPM-CP, CPMAI, PMO-CP, and PMI-CP credentials with two decades of enterprise program delivery experience across healthcare, financial services, and federal sectors.
What does PMP exam prep coaching cost?
A single 60-minute session is $199 and you can pay and schedule it online without a call. The full four-hour program is $599, which saves you $197 compared to booking four sessions separately, and starts with a short discovery session so we can confirm it is the right fit. You also need to purchase PMI Study Hall directly from PMI. That is not included, and our sessions are built around reviewing your Study Hall practice results.
Why do I need PMI Study Hall?
Study Hall is where your practice exams and question bank live. Coaching works by looking at what you are actually getting wrong and why, so I need real practice data to work from. Buy it directly from PMI at pmi.org before your first session.
How do I get started?
Every coaching engagement starts with a conversation. Reach out or book a discovery call and tell us where you are and where you want to go. We'll figure out the right format, cadence, and focus together.
